Random thought on Grace and Despair
Friday, January 4th, 2008I have recently been going through some trying times. As a reflective person I tend to over analyze things at times. I have come to the conclusion that the, “If only I would have done this…” or “If I only would have tried harder..” prompts are not really the work of the Spirit. It seems to me that they are more the work of despair.
1) I have done the best I am able with the information that I have.
2) Even if my “best” was not “good enough,” it was still my best.
Grace is restorative, nagging prompts in your mind are not. We have our failings, we repent, learn and move on.
